Adapter for control current HALO - Tesla Model X

The ALC control current adapter is an adapter that allows you to take the control current from the original LEDs on the auxiliary light relay harness. Tesla's LED lights are controlled by a data stream through the car's computer, which means that the "traditional" control current cannot be turned on. The ALC control current adapter converts the digital signal coming to the main beam into 12V power, which provides a control current to the relay in the standard relay network, which in turn turns on the auxiliary light. This adapter makes the extra parking light, or the i-LBA function found on, for example, certain models from Lazer, work in addition to the headlight. Thus, the ALC control power adapter does not work alone, but requires a "regular" relay wiring kit as well. This adapter can be connected directly to the car's own lamp and thus avoids cable breaks and soldering.

The traditional relay network works in the same way as a normal light switch: on and off. A control current signal (12V current) from the car's own high beam is stolen to the relay and when the car's high beam is switched on, this control current signal switches the relay "on". When your own main beam is off and the control current is on, the relay goes into the "off" position, and the auxiliary light also goes off. This switches the auxiliary light on and off together with the car's own high beams. In all its simplicity, the functions of the ALC are to convert the digital signal coming to the high beam into a current of 12V, recognized by a standard relay wiring network, and to supply a current to the relay network.

Note! You can buy either the ALC control power adapter alone or a complete set with adapter and wiring harness for 1-2 extra lights.

Quick guide

Solder the red wire from the ALC adapter to the power cord to the relay harness. Solder the white wire from the ALC adapter to the control mains lead on the relay harness. Solder the green wire from the ALC adapter to the power cord of the auxiliary parking light, or the power cord to the LBA function zone (max. 5A). Then connect the ALC adapter to the car's own lights.

Connect the mains cable normally: the mains cable (+) to the positive pole of the battery or the power connector on the fuse box and the ground cable (-) to the chassis or the negative pole of the battery. The control mains lead is connected to the white lead on the ALC adapter. Connect the auxiliary light to the output cables with DT-2 connectors. Test the connection and secure the cables with strips.
