The Purelux Road Curve C550 is the new updated version of the Purelux best selling auxiliary light of all time! In addition to the stylish dark exterior, the C550's features include frameless lens, two-color (white and orange) parking light and two different power modes. For the Purelux Road Curve C550, you can install either in a power mode that follows the restrictions of Emarking in Europe, or alternatively the PowerBoost™ mode, which creams the extra light's diodes as much as they can, which means a maximum light flow! In PowerBoost™ mode, according to the manufacturer, the auxiliary light ramp can produce a luminous flux of up to 11,000 lumens with a measured range of over half a kilometer (@ 1 lux)! In addition to the updated features, the C550 has retained the spotlight that was celebrated in the previous model, which is tightly defined in the vertical direction and evenly spread in the lateral direction, which means that all the light can be directed to exactly the right place and that the light is not drowned in, for example, the tops of trees.

About 20 different LED light ramps from Purelux, Lazer, Osram, Luxtar etc. was part of the test, Dec 2019. In this new generation - Road Curve C550 - they have kept the original most important features and really just made everything better. Its efficient light pattern made the 1.0 a clear winner in the test. Now in 2.0 you still have the same light pattern, but with Purelux PowerBoost™ you get even more light and power everywhere!

Road Curve C550 is an extra light ramp specially designed for dark and winding roads in the Nordics. Its vertically strictly defined light pattern does not send unnecessary stray light to the sky or directly in front of the car to the ground, so the light can be directed exactly where it is needed. The tapered light cone improves visibility and significantly increases road safety even in really bad weather conditions. This is because the light does not focus on snow falling from the sky, or reflect the light of a rain-struck asphalt straight into the driver's eyes. The high luminous flux combined with the Road Curve precise beam provides an impressive range of 530 meters @ 1 lux, giving the driver significantly more time to observe what is happening on the road, which significantly increases safety!. In addition, the limited beam allows the additional light to be installed low in the front, for example under the fender, which makes the additional light a stylish and discreet part of the whole. This additional light ramp is suitable for all road users and professional drivers, as its performance is maximum!

Purelux PowerBoost™ - Most extra light ramps sold today have a so-called Emarking. This means that you get a requirement on yourself as an extra light manufacturer, that the product must be power limited in order to be traffic approved for certain countries in Europe. In Sweden, we lack this requirement, but many additional light ramps sold here still have the marking because they are manufactured for the entire European market. This means that the effect will be limited in almost all additional lights (and very much so). With the PowerBoost™ mode activated, you bypass the E-marking and run "ALL IN" on the effect of the extra light.

In addition to the precisely directed light beam and maximum power, other features of the Road Curve C550 have also been refined with demanding conditions in mind. The extra light beam's 5000K color temperature does not strain the eyes even during longer driving distances, and works better than cold color temperatures in bad weather conditions, such as fog and rain. The neutral color temperature also makes it easier to observe terrain contours and detect potential obstacles well in advance. The curved design of the C550 guarantees an even, wide beam of light, and the reflective surfaces of the auxiliary beam also direct a lot of light far ahead.

The color of the parking light can be set to either elegant orange or traditional white.

The impact-resistant, virtually unbreakable Lexa polycarbonate lens withstands the inevitable stone chips and scratches from branches, as well as varying weather conditions. In addition, the front of the Road Curve C550 is completely flat, meaning there is no frame around the lens to collect snow, ice or dirt, so the lens remains clean even in bad weather conditions. The appearance of the ramp, carbon fiber details, dark overall texture and optics, and the parking light that glows in white and orange make it a beautiful addition to any car. The C550 is perfectly suited for cars, vans and off-road vehicles as well as for heavy vehicles. Thanks to the PowerBoost™ mode, the panel is also an excellent choice for construction sites or off-road vehicles.

The C550 comes with both the traditional end legs and the width-adjustable rail brackets under the light, so there are almost limitless mounting possibilities. The installation is also facilitated by the supplied support irons, as well as the 2-pin DT-2 connector that is already in place in the auxiliary light's power cord. The wide operating voltage range (9-30 V) enables installation in both 12V and 24V systems. The power mode of the auxiliary light bar, which is approved for road traffic, can be installed for use with a separate plus cable coming from the power cable of the auxiliary light, which allows the connection to be made, for example, behind a separate switch. In this case, the ramp's power mode can be changed between wall-approved and PowerBoost™ mode whenever needed using a switch, for example from the driver's seat of the vehicle. The C550 is protected against radio interference in accordance with the ECE R10 standard. Two year (24 month) warranty!

Coupling

When the panel is connected with the DT-2 connector, it lights up in PowerBoost mode. The road approved power mode can be switched on by connecting the black wire to ground and the blue wire to power. The red wire must be left unconnected for the auxiliary light limiter to work.
