Purelux Road Curve C550 is the new updated V2.0 version of Purelux's all-time best-selling, test-winning additional light panel! In addition to its stylish, dark-speaking appearance, the C550's features include a frameless lens, a two-color (white and orange) parking light, and two different power modes. The panel can be switched to either the power mode approved for road traffic, or alternatively the PowerBoost® mode intended for off-road driving, which harnesses the panel's unlimited light output. In PowerBoost® mode, the C550 is capable of producing a measured light output of 7135 lumens and a measured range of 530 meters (@ 1 lux)! In addition to its top features, the lamp has been corrosion-tested in accordance with the MIL-STD standard using the so-called salt spray test! The Road Curve C550 is an additional light panel designed purely for the dark and winding roads of the Nordic countries, which, in addition to updated top features, also retains the precisely defined light beam that was praised in the previous model!

Note! The difference between Purelux PowerBoost® and road mode is clearly noticeable in use - PowerBoost mode is significantly more efficient and should therefore not be used in normal road traffic, but only off-road.

The previous version (Purelux Road Curve V1.0) won the test of the Swedish magazine Vi Bilägare. The updated C550 has kept all the most important features, only further improved. One of the most praised features is the Curve's precise, optimal beam, which has also been kept in the C550. In addition, the Purelux PowerBoost® feature has been introduced, which multiplies the light output, e.g. for off-road use.

In addition, the C550 has been tested for corrosion in a so-called salt fog test in accordance with the MIL-STD-810G standard by the TopTester testing agency. The C550's vertically tightly defined and laterally evenly distributed light pattern improves visibility and significantly increases road safety, as the light is not directed at the snowdrifts pouring from the sky or reflects the wet asphalt whipped by the rain into the driver's eyes. The panel also does not form a dazzling "ball of light" directly in front of the front, but illuminates exactly where the light is needed - far ahead and wide to the edges of the road. This gives the driver significantly more time to observe what is happening on the road, which in itself increases driving safety in traffic. The excellent light beam of the panel allows the additional light to be installed even low, for example under the license plate, making the additional light a neat and unobtrusive part of the whole. In addition to the precisely directed beam and maximum power, other features of the Road Curve C550 have also been honed with demanding conditions in mind. Choice of orange or white parking light.

The impact-resistant, virtually unbreakable Lexan polycarbonate lens withstands the inevitable impacts of rocks and branches, as well as varying weather conditions. In addition, the front of the light is completely flat, meaning there is no frame around the lens to collect snow, ice or dirt, and this helps the lens stay clean even in bad weather conditions. The panel's finished appearance, carbon fiber details, dark overall structure and optics, and white and orange parking light make it a beautiful addition to any car. The C550 is ideal for cars, vans and SUVs, as well as part of heavy equipment. Thanks to the PowerBoost® mode, the panel is also a great choice for construction site use or Off-Road vehicles.

The light comes with both traditional end feet and width-adjustable rail brackets below the light, so there are almost unlimited mounting options. The included support bars and the 2-pole DT-2 connector already installed in the light's power cable also make installation easier. The wide operating voltage range (9-30 V) enables installation in both 12V and 24V systems. The light's road-approved power mode can be installed using a separate positive wire from the light's power cable, which allows the connection to be made, for example, behind a separate switch. In this case, the panel's power mode can be switched between road-approved and PowerBoost mode whenever necessary using a switch, for example, from the vehicle's cab. The light's moderate reference number (40) enables installation alongside almost all standard lights without having to remove the original lights from use! Note! You can buy the complete sets above either as is OR in addition to them, you can also take the XBB OBD Dongle & PowerUnit connection relay (see product options), which allows the additional light to be connected to CAN-bus controlled lights. In short, the connection using this relay is implemented by inserting the control device (OBD Dongle) into the car's OBD-II port and replacing the PowerUnit relay in the included wiring harness with the original relay. The control device inserted into the OBD port captures the high beam signal from the CAN bus and sends the information completely wirelessly to the relay in the wiring harness, which in turn controls the additional light according to this signal.

Installation guide

Coupling

When the panel is connected using the DT-2 connector, it will light up in PowerBoost mode. The road-approved power mode can be activated by connecting the black wire to ground and the blue wire to power. The red wire must be left unconnected for the limiter to work.
