Headlamp GP Xplor PHR 17 - 500 lm / Rechargeable

The GP Xplor PHR 17 is a compact and feather-light rechargeable headlamp. The PHR 17 is perfect as a general headlamp in the home and at the same time for demanding outdoor activities such as hiking. In addition to its traditional white light, the headlamp can shine with a red light that preserves night vision, which can be very useful when reading maps, for example. There are four power modes for white light, two for red light + flashing function. In addition, the luminaire has SOS and Beacon functions, which can be used as signal lights in, for example, emergency situations. The maximum output of 500 lumens (according to the manufacturer) is sufficient for the most common activities both at home and outdoors but also for more demanding activities such as jogging or trail running. At maximum power, the headlamp has a range of 85 meters, according to the manufacturer. Thanks to its low weight of 60 grams, the weight is not an obstacle in any situation, but on the contrary, it is always easy to carry around as it fits nicely in, for example, a pocket or backpack.

The flexible headband sits very comfortably on the head, the comfort is also enhanced by the fact that the material breathes, which gives a very pleasant experience. Another function that further enhances comfort is that the head of the lamp can be adjusted, which means that the light can be directed in the desired direction and always provide light where it is needed. In this way, it becomes ergonomic as you don't have to control and direct the light with only head movements, something that can otherwise cause pain in, for example, the neck and shoulders. The headband is also equipped with a reflex that runs along the entire band, which provides visibility from all sides, which provides increased safety for the user.

The lamp is powered by a built-in 1600 mAh Li-ion battery, which has a battery life of up to four hours in the highest power mode according to the manufacturer. The battery is easily charged with the included modern and fast USB-C charging cable. The indicator on the lamp shows the charging status in the form of both charging phase and remaining charge with indicator lights. In addition, the lamp has a key lock that prevents the lamp from being switched on accidentally

The headlamp is waterproof according to protection class IPX6, which means that it can withstand water from all directions without breaking. In practice, even heavy rain does not prevent flawless use of the headlamp.

Quick guide

The instructions below are written with the lamp in the hand and the LEDs facing the user.

On / Off: Turn on the lamp by pressing the left button once, the lamp lights up in low power as standard. To turn off the light, quickly press the left button twice in succession.

To change power mode : When the light is on, press the button on the left to scroll through the settings, and the brightness of the light changes with each button press. The lamp changes power modes in the following order: Low -> Medium -> High -> Off.

Turbo : Activate Turbo power mode by holding down the left button for about 1 second. Turbo mode can be activated for use in all so-called "basic power modes". Turbo power mode automatically drops to Bright power mode after one minute of use, preventing the lamp from overheating. Can be reactivated if needed. Double press the left button to turn off turbo mode.

Red light: Press the right button once to turn on the red light in low power mode. By pressing the right button again, you go through the functions in the following order: Red light shifts in the power modes in the following order: Red light low -> Red light high -> Red light flashes -> Off.

Special functions (SOS / Beacon): Activate the SOS function by holding down either button for four (4) seconds. The SOS function can also be activated when the lamp is switched off. Press and hold the left button to activate the Beacon, then press the right button. By pressing the button on the left, the lamp returns to the low power mode. Pressing the right button turns on the red light. Press the left button twice to deactivate the functions (the light turns off)

Button lock : Press and hold both buttons for about 4 seconds to activate the button lock - the indicator light will flash red twice. To unlock, press and hold the buttons again for about 4 seconds - the LED will flash green twice.

Battery Indicators : When the light is off, you can quickly check the charging status by pressing the right button twice in succession.

• Green light - Battery charge above 70%
• Red light - Battery charge 35-70%
• Flashing red - battery charge less than 35%
• Note! When the battery charge is less than 5%, the light on the headlight flashes twice every five minutes.

Charging : Connect the USB-A connector on the charging cable to a power source such as a power bank, computer or wall outlet. Lift off the cover of the charging port and connect the USB-C connector of the charging cable to the lamp. The red indicator light appears during charging and turns green when the battery is fully charged.
