The Purelux SM250 is a led bar with a slim body designed especially for snowmobiles and enduro bikes, whose wide light beam offers plenty of light for winding routes as well as for tree-hopping in the forest or powder cruising in the fells. The lamp was designed in Finland in co-operation with active sledding enthusiasts, and in its development special attention was paid to the conditions of use of the light. SM250 (Snowmobile 250) produces a significantly richer light pattern compared to the sled's own lights, which increases visibility both in width and height, i.e. light can be obtained even behind bends on routes, and even hills can be illuminated in uneven terrain. In the lateral direction, the total width of the light beam is an impressive 170°, where the main beam provides light forward, and the abundant and soft diffused light evenly illuminates the surroundings of the sled without dazzling or impairing forward visibility.

The SM250 produces a light output of 2665 lm, and it offers even more than 150% more light than the H4 bulb commonly used in sleds (approx. 1000 lm). The light beam of the SM250 is realized by combining different reflectors in the same panel: the knurled reflectors on the edges spread the light beam very wide in the lateral direction, so that the route can be easily illuminated from side to side, while the flatter reflectors in the center of the light direct the light forward with a wide beam in the lateral direction, so that the light beam is even. The diffuse light produced by the lamp is cut from the bottom edge so that the light is not unnecessarily reflected from e.g. the hood. Overall, the SM250 forms a light beam optimized for snowmobiles that perfectly complements the sled's own lights, offering just the right amount of light both vertically and horizontally.

The lamp is equipped with a pleasant color temperature of 4042 Kelvin, which works better than colder (blue) shades, e.g. in the snow and fog. The warm color temperature "passes through" fog and snow dust like a fog light, and the snow blowing from the sky does not reflect on the eyes in the same way as when using cold-toned lights. The body of the lamp is only 40 mm high, and its low mounting feet enable inconspicuous installation. The flat front part of the lamp reduces the accumulation of snow, ice and dirt in front of the lens, keeping the framed lights of the beam more open. In accordance with the IP68 rating, the lamp is completely protected against water and dust, and the lens is made of UV protection and virtually unbreakable polycarbonate, so it can withstand even the toughest of rides. The SM250 can be installed on the sled using the supplied end feet, and installation is facilitated by the 2-pin DT connector already in place on the power cord. The very low and depth-wise thin body ensures that the lamp can be neatly installed in any sled. Two-year (24-month) warranty!
