Nitecore NB20000 Gen3 is an updated version of its manufacturer's NB series, the largest capacity backup power supply. The new Gen3 model is now even more comfortable and easier to carry thanks to its lighter and more compact design. The power source weighs only 291 grams, and it is also shorter than the previous version, so it fits more easily in a pocket and does not add much extra weight to, for example, the chest. The NB20000 Gen3 is equipped with two USB-C ports, both of which function as both input and output ports. According to its manufacturer, the capacity of the device is able to charge e.g. the iPhone 15 Pro smartphone almost four times and the iPad Pro tablet almost 1.5 times from empty to full. In accordance with the UN38.3 standard, Nitecore NB20000 Gen3 can also be taken on a flight, as the nominal capacity of the device is less than 100 Wh. The device comes with a USB-C-USB-A adapter, which can also be used to charge devices with a traditional USB-A charging port.

The carbon fiber-reinforced structure of the power source is familiar from, e.g., the aviation and automotive industries, and it maximizes the device's impact resistance, guaranteeing excellent protection, e.g. for the battery cell. According to the manufacturer, this 20,000 mAh power bank is significantly lighter and smaller than a standard power bank, making it a great "emergency" for many different adventures. NB20000 Gen3 is equipped with a built-in high-performance 18650 battery, whose large capacity (20,000 mAh) enables charging several small devices from empty to full, or charging one device several times.

The device has a four-level charge status display, which indicates the remaining charge with blue LED indicators: four lights at 100%, three lights at 75%, two lights at 50%, one light at 25% and one flashing light indicates when the charge is almost used. The device also has a low-current charging mode for more sensitive devices, such as Bluetooth headphones and smart watches. It is activated by double-clicking the device's operating switch. The device's overcurrent, short circuit, overcharge, overdischarge, overvoltage and thermal protection functions guarantee safe use.

All in all, the Nitecore NB20000 Gen3 is an excellent choice for e.g. long hiking trips where a high-capacity backup power source is needed to charge electronic devices such as phones. It is also an excellent addition to the "emergency kit" carried on trips.
