The Olight Osight-R RD is the first red dot sight from Olight, renowned for its top-quality flashlights, headlamps and weapon lights. The Olight Osight-R RD is a red dot sight for sport shooting, training and professional use, especially for pistols. The main advantage of a red dot sight over traditional iron sights, apart from speed, is that you can keep both eyes open on the target and when the gun is brought in front of your eyes, you can see the target. The dot remains accurately on the target, allowing aiming without changing the focus of the eyes (with iron sights, the eye should be on the front sight). The red 3 MOA dot, wide brightness settings, very long operating time and large lens make the scope a great companion, especially in fast-paced situations. What's more, it's much easier to find the sight in hard positions than with iron sights.

NOTE! An optional Picatinny mount is available to attach the light point sight to a standard Picatinny rail.

A stress test of more than 10,000 shots ensures that the red dot riflescope will stand up to heavy use, and the sight alignment did not change during that 10,000-shot test. The Osight-R is powered by a built-in battery, which allows the scope to be light and sleek, and to have very long burn times: with night vision set to a whopping 70,000 hours on a single scope. Similarly, with mode 10 (the third brightest), for example, which is good enough for sunny conditions, the uninterrupted operating time is more than 1700 hours (over 70 days).

What makes this red dot refractor special is that it is the first model on the market with a charging case. Many scopes come with a protective hood to protect the scope when not in use. In Osigt's case, the hood also acts as a charger and powerbank: the scope is automatically fully charged whenever the hood is in place. The hood's 800 mAh battery allows the scope itself to be charged from empty to full 3 times. This, added to the scope's own really long burn time, ensures that you never run out of battery, as the holster allows you to quadruple the burn time. For example, when used in the field, the cover can be inserted after every shift, allowing the scope to be fully charged during storage.

The red dot sight can be used in three different modes:

• Manual: the desired brightness is selected manually, and the sight is switched on and off manually.
• Locked: a mode specifically designed for tactical use, in which the desired setting is selected in manual mode, after which the sight is switched to locked mode, so that the brightness is not adjusted even when the switch is pressed.
• Automatic: the brightness is automatically adjusted according to the ambient light, the sight automatically switches off after 10 minutes of inactivity and automatically wakes up when moved.

Quick guide

• Installation: Tighten the screws to a tension of 17 inch pounds (2 nm) and secure the screws with blue Loctite thread lock. This ensures that the screws do not loosen or the aiming point does not change even after long use.
• On / Off: Press either switch (+ or -) once to start the sight. To turn off the sight, press both switches simultaneously for about 1 second.
• Thebrightness of the red dot sight is adjusted in manual mode using the + and - buttons. In automatic mode, the brightness is adjusted automatically.
• Mode change: the red dot reticle has three different modes of operation: manual, locked and automatic. There are three modes of operation: Manual, Locked and Auto. Three modes of operation. Differences in operating modes:
  
  • Manual: the desiredbrightness is selected manually
  • Locked: a mode specifically designed for tactical use, where the desired brightness is selected in manual mode, after which the red dot reminder is switched to locked mode, where the brightness is not adjusted even when the switch is pressed.
  • Automatic: brightness is automatically adjusted according to the ambient light level
• Motion detector: the motion detector of the red dot light can be switched on or off by pressing the minus switch once, then again and holding it down for 3 seconds, causing the dot to flash. When the sensor is on, the sight will switch itself off after being stationary for 10 minutes and will switch itself on automatically when the sight moves.
• Battery charge indicator: The red dot indicator shows the battery charge on the LED between the switches when either button is pressed as follows:
  • green: more than 50%
  • yellow: 20-50%.
  • red: 10-20%
  • flashing red: less than 10%
• Charging: the red dot light is automatically charged when the protective case is placed over the red dot light. The protective case is charged by the USB-C cable supplied.
