Ignition current adapter HALO - Tesla Model S

ALC ignition current adapter is a converter that easily obtains ignition current from the car's original LED light, which is then sent to the additional light's relay set. Tesla's LED lights are controlled with a digital signal via the car's computer, that is, the additional light cannot be switched on by creating a "traditional" switch. The ALC ignition current adapter converts the digital signal to analog 12V power, thereby supplying power to the relay in a normal relay cycle, which then turns on the retrofit auxiliary light. This means that the ALC ignition current adapter will not work alone, but you will need a "regular" relay wiring kit in addition to that.

A traditional relay wiring harness works the same way as a regular light switch: On and off. With a brief explanation, the task of the ALC ignition current adapter is to convert the digital signal from the car's high beams into an analog 12V current, and thus provide power to a regular relay set, which then turns on the auxiliary light.

Compatible with Tesla Model S Facelift (5.2016 ->).

Note! If you already have a relay kit from before, you can just buy the ignition current adapter. OR you can buy a complete set that includes a relay cable kit for 1-2 extra lights in addition to the adapter.

Connection instructions

Solder the red wire from the ALC adapter to the power wire on the relay kit. Solder the white wire from the ALC adapter to the control power wire on the relay. Solder the green wire from the ALC adapter to the auxiliary light wire for the parking light or LBA function (max. 5A). Then connect the ALC adapter to the car's own high beams.

Connection of the relay: the power cable (+) to the positive pole of the battery or to the power outlet in the fuse box, and the ground wire (-) to the car body or negative pole of the battery. Control power is connected to the white wire on the ALC adapter. Connect the backup light to the relay harness with DT-2 connectors coming out of the relay. Test the functionality of the connection and secure the wires with cable ties.
