Note! The Bosch cable is not compatible with the Smart System released in 2022. The Smart System requires its own cable, select the Smart System BES3 cable option from the menu.
Light5 EB1000 Bosch is a powerful bicycle lamp for electric bicycles with a luminous flux of 1000 lumens. The lamp is powered directly from the battery on the electric bike, this particular variant comes with a connection cable that is suitable for electric bikes with a Bosch motor. The bicycle lamp offers three different power modes and has a light pattern with a nice range that is very suitable for cycle paths in the city, dark dirt roads and forest paths. In addition to its three power modes, the Light5 EB1000 has a smart and automatic "daylight" glow. The bicycle lamp itself detects when an effect is redundant, for example when transitioning from a dark forest path to a lit street, and then switches between the effect modes automatically. The bike light then returns to the last effect when it feels that the "daylight shine" is not enough. Thanks to its three power modes, the light can be easily adjusted according to your needs, where a lower power can be suitable for quieter cycling, while a higher power can be suitable for higher speeds or more difficult terrain. The Light5 EB1000 has a compact design that allows for a discreet design on all bikes and the weight or size of the light does not affect the performance of the bike.
The included bracket places the lamp centrally on the handlebar so that it can provide a centered light pattern. With its smart adapter parts, the bracket fits all handlebars between 32 and 35 mm. It comes with a connection cable with a quick connector at one end for a smooth connection to the bicycle's electric motor. At the other end of the cable there is a connector that is easily connected to the lamp, so that you can quickly remove the bicycle lamp from the bicycle for, for example, protected storage, or use of the lamp on another bicycle. The durable aluminum body in combination with the strong polycarbonate lens ensures durability even in tough conditions. The Light5 EB1000 bicycle lamp is waterproof according to IPX6 - class, which means that it can be used even in damp conditions.
Thanks to its operating voltage of 6-12V, the lamp is suitable for most electric bicycles. With the smart connection cable (with quick connection), you can quickly install the bike light on your electric bike. The connection cable is available in various designs to be compatible with electric motors from Bosch, Brose, Yamaha and Shimano. (Shimano is without quick coupling, is connected with + and - cables).

Maximum effect
According to our tests, the Light5 EB2000 also works on most motors with a calculated power of less than 21.7 W. In these cases, the maximum luminous flux is reduced in proportion to the motor current according to the table below. It is also worth noting that a motor reported to provide light 12 W (6V, 2A) may provide e.g. 6.3V and 2.1A, i.e. 13.2 W, which naturally increases the light flow.
Quick guide
We recommend a professional installation of the bicycle light. Installation of external bicycle lighting may affect the warranty of the electric bicycle. On some bicycle models, the lamp's power cable can be installed separately. Contact your local bike shop for more information.
Note! On the Bosch Performance CX Gen4 engine, the lamp is connected to the middle connector of the 3 parallel identical connector pieces.
On the Bosch Performance XC Gen3 engine, the lamp connects to the connector along the top left. On all Bosch engines, the light must also be activated by an authorized service workshop, before the engine supplies power to the connector for the light.
Mounting: If possible, route the power cord inside the frame to protect it from harsh weather and wear. If this is not possible, it is of course just as well to thread it on the outside along the frame. Make sure the cord is secure and cannot get caught in external objects. Connect the motor-specific connection cable to the bicycle's electric motor. Attach the lamp to the bicycle handlebar using the supplied bracket and connect the other end of the connection cable to the lamp.
Use: The lamp lights up automatically in daylight mode when the bike is started. The bike light automatically switches to the "daylight" power mode if it senses that the power mode is redundant. The lamp is switched on and off by pressing the switch. The light turns off automatically if the e-bike is stationary for 2 minutes.
By holding down the power switch, the lamp switches between power modes. Release the power switch when the desired power mode is active. Double-clicking the power button activates the flashing power mode. From there, you can switch between flashing power modes0 by holding down the power button further. To return to fixed beam power modes, double-click the power switch again.
